Outside of Konoha, Pain splits his buddies and Konan into a recon group and a diversion group. To confuse the Konoha defense, Pain breaches the village barrier with only one body and then summons the rest of this bodies and Konan into the village. As the diversion group raise hell within the village, the recon group is busy collecting information on the nine-tailed fox from unsuspecting ninjas.
Back in Kumagakure, the Raikage is sending off his special team to rescue Killer Bee and to deliver his letter to the Hokage. Both the Raikage and the team are concerned about Killer Bee and the Raikage even tears up.
In a cave somewhere, Madara/Tobi, Kisame, and Zetsu are trying to extract the eight-tailed ox from Killer Bee. To their surprise however, Killer Bee merely turns into a tentacle (tail). Kisame and Zetsu assumes that Sasuke has messed up, and they let the tentacle flow out of the cave and into an open lake. They did not know that the tentacle is actually an escape vessel for Killer Bee at the cost of a few of the demon ox’s tails. As Killer Bee walks back on to dry land, he is also talking to the demon ox within his mind. Surprisingly, Killer Bee is actually not feeling too badly about the kidnapping because he was able to get out of Kumagakure. Killer Bee also reveals that he got a little carried away during the fight with Sasuke because of Sasuke’s strength.
